Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026.
The short version. This is practice software, offered as it is, by password, to families who have been given access. It is not a diagnosis, not a medical device, and not a replacement for a teacher or a reading specialist. Do not share the password.
Access is granted to specific families by Mijares Group Learning. The password is for the household it was given to. Please do not pass it on, publish it, or use it to provide the Lab to others as a service of your own. If you know someone it would help, send them to us and we will decide.
A child should use the Lab with a responsible adult who has set it up and who reads the grown-up view. Several parts of it, including entering reading scores and approving new practice words, are written for an adult to do.
The practice record lives in the browser on your device, not on our servers. That means you hold it, and it also means we cannot restore it if it is lost. Save a report from the grown-up view if you want a copy that survives a cleared browser or a new device. See the privacy page for the detail.
The Lab's text, code, design, name and logo belong to Mijares Group Learning. Illustrations are licensed for use here. You are welcome to use the Lab with your own children and to keep, print and share the reports it makes about your own child. You may not copy the software itself, republish it, sell access to it, or build a product from it.
The word lists, passages and practice material are assembled from public domain and openly licensed sources and from material written for this tool.
The Lab is provided free and without warranty of any kind. It may contain errors, it may be unavailable, and it may change or stop. To the fullest extent the law allows, Mijares Group Learning is not liable for any loss arising from using it, including the loss of a practice record.
Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
These terms may change, and the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the Lab after that means the new terms apply. Questions go to [email protected].
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska.
